GLOBAL GAME JAM | JAN 25-27, 2019

The Pioneer Valley Game Developers (PVGD) are excited to host aspiring and experienced game developers at the 2019 Global Game Jam! Join us from Jan 25 - 27 at Another Castle, our game dev co-working space in Greenfield, MA!

30 Olive Street, Suite 2 | Greenfield, MA 01301

Global Game Jam is an event for humans with an interest in making games. While it’s helpful to have some experience in programming, art, audio, or game design, the event is open to all skill levels.  The general goal of any game jam is to work together in a team to create an original game from start to finish in a short amount of time.

All attendees must sign-up to create an account at Global Game Jam. Our jam site can be found at

We highly suggest reading the PVGD / Another Castle code of conduct policy before attending the event.

Q: Do I need a team to participate?

A: No! In fact forming teams prior to the event is discouraged. Teams will be formed during the game jam.

Q: Do I need skills to participate?

A: It's best if you have some skills in either art, programming, audio, or game design, but everyone is welcome.

Q: What if I already have a game idea?

A: You can make any game you want, but the Global Game Jam has a secret theme that is announced at 5pm Friday. It's often a fun and rewarding design challenge to consider the theme.

Q: What if I want to make a board game instead of a digital game?

A: Non-digital games are perfectly acceptable. We'll have some supplies available.

Q: Do I need to register on to participate?

A: Yes! Everyone must register, and registration is free:

Q: What if my question isn't answered here?

A: E-mail the Game Jam Organizers or review the official Global Game Jam FAQ page.

Before the end of the Jam, please do the following:

1) Upload your final game to the Global Game Jam site.

2) Please complete this final survey.
